Indiana residents Shannon, Dengke, and Jaedyn are all at different points in their pursuit of undergraduate degrees, but they share a curiosity for what’s to come next—both for their own futures, and for the future of their home state.
Traveling across Indiana to take a closer look at some of the state’s leading industries, they see that no matter what their fellow Hoosiers are using to innovate—be it seeds, software, or steel—they’re all working toward the same goal: finding new solutions for a changing world. As their eyes are opened to all of the possibilities Indiana has to offer, they realize that when you find the courage to accept change, you also gain the courage to grow.

The state of Indiana is brimming with potential—and it’s poised to make a difference far beyond its borders.

[SOUND] [MUSIC] Right now I think that Indiana is seen as a stagnant place, just like very still waters. And so I hope that the leaders that we meet are gonna be able to provide insight for this innovation that's occurring within our state. &gt;&gt; I'm at that stage where, should I go with what I like, or should I go with what makes money? &gt;&gt; For me, I'm just going into college and I don't really have like any idea what to expect, and it's like a life changing decision. &gt;&gt; So I have like a bunch of questions that I'm hoping that these professionals, that we're about to interview, are gonna help me answer. &gt;&gt; [MUSIC] &gt;&gt; So this summer. &gt;&gt; Jaydon, Denker, and I, we are about to go on this road trip around Indiana. To interview people working and growing in the industry &gt;&gt; Trying to figure out what we actually wanna do with our lives &gt;&gt; Cuz I know I want to innovate and create, but I don't know where I want to go with that yet &gt;&gt; Now in college, I feel like I'm not gonna be smart enough to be able to do all of this. [MUSIC] &gt;&gt; Hopefully on this trip we can just kinda slow it down, slow down the process, be able to catch our breath, and go forward in freedom on the road. On the open road. [LAUGH] [MUSIC]

This summer, we’re sending three post-secondary students from Indiana on a life-changing road trip to see how Indiana-grown ingenuity is keeping their home state at the cutting edge of rapid technological change. They’re spending two weeks exploring some of the exciting industries powering Indiana’s growth—including healthcare services, advanced manufacturing, biosciences, and technology—and connecting with the Hoosiers working at the forefront of these fields.
