LET GO

Shed the noise and listen to yourself

When you’re trying to figure out what you’re looking for in life, people might try to guide—or even push—you in a direction. The comments, advice, suggestions, and questions other people have about the direction of your life are what we call Noise. It's necessary to filter the Noise; to think about what you're hearing and whether it aligns with who you are. Filtering the Noise will help you know whether to shed it or take it as useful feedback.

LESSON QUESTIONS

The questions below will help you reflect on the lesson video. We recommend that you write your answers digitally or on paper, but if you'd rather express yourself another way, do what feels right!

  • 1

What Noise—either from your family, friends, society, or yourself—do you feel you most need to shed? How will shedding this Noise get you more aligned to who you are and where you want to go?

  • 2

How has the noise you’ve heard shaped who you are or the vision you have for yourself?

  • 3

When you shed the Noise, you're able to clear away the pressures and expectations that have been placed on you and get to your authentic self. Who or what does that look like?
