I've been doing IT in cybersecurity work for probably 22/23 years. And then from there I got into consulting, started to do cybersecurity consulting on my own, got connected with RBS IT solutions here and had been working with those guys for the past four years or so. Officially, I think our own would probably say I'm the CFO of the company. In my mind, I'm a practitioner, I'm an evangelist when it comes to best practices around cybersecurity and kind of what the industry is doing and where it's going. So, I see my role as consultative, but at the same time, I'm involved in operations. So what I will tell you about cybersecurity is a tough field, long term on you. And the reason I say that, is because, you are gonna put yourself in a situation where you're having to learn something new every single day. In our world, the things that I was talking about and learning back 22 years ago, they still apply to a certain degree, but for the most part, everything's changed, it's entirely different. But with that said, it's an exciting industry and it's something that is not going to slow down anytime soon 

I believe that experience is the most important thing for getting into the IT and cybersecurity industry. However, in order to gain experience, you need to get your foot in the door. Certifications are a good way to do that. They show a company that you put in some effort on your own to continue your learning outside of a degree program.
