About Khadijah
- As a child, I found solace in reading and writing, a passion that quickly turned into a lifelong creative journey.
- I pursued an interdisciplinary major in African-American studies and mass media at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, which laid the foundation for my advocacy work.
- I founded Liberated Muse Arts Group in 2008, providing a platform for multidisciplinary arts and social change.
- My play, “Miss Trudy's Birthday,” debuted at the Kennedy Center in 2017, capturing the complexity of digital privacy and identity.
- I earned my doctorate in education in 2020, sparking my research on Black homeschoolers’ college preparedness.
- I co-founded Black Family Homeschool Educators and Scholars during the COVID-19 pandemic to support families navigating homeschooling.
- My work as a poet and playwright earned me the honor of becoming Prince George’s County's second poet laureate.
- I also work as the founding director of Black Writers for Peace and Social Justice, a nonprofit focused on promoting peace and social justice through writing.
