Erica Lock Highlight
Sometimes people start with a solution and then go seek out the problem...but a lot of success comes from when the problem consumes you and then you find the solution.
About Erica
- I grew up learning the value of hard work and entrepreneurship from my parents, with my mom running a small business and being active in the community.
- After college, I landed my first job at MTV Networks in the advertising department, where I discovered the potential of corporate social responsibility.
- Inspired by the intersection of business and social impact, I pursued an MBA at Columbia, focusing on social enterprise and entrepreneurship.
- I spent nearly a decade at Echoing Green, supporting social entrepreneurs through a fellowship model that emphasized leadership and community.
- Moving to the Blackstone Charitable Foundation, I now focus on workforce development, helping young people build entrepreneurial skills and access career opportunities.
- One of my proudest achievements has been leading the LaunchPad program, which has placed over 275 students in paid internships across Blackstone and its portfolio companies.
