Discovering My Passion For Education In College
Learning something new and being curious about the world around you is such an important part of what makes life meaningful.
About Ashley
- In high school, I worked for my stepfather and uncle’s small digital publishing startup.
- I also got a job working at a preschool, which was my first real introduction to working in education.
- I gravitated towards a lot of different interests in college, including English literature, anthropology, and animal behavior—but I realized that what I loved was the process of education in general.
- I started to become interested in the way other countries’ education systems worked, so I stayed with some family in Denmark and worked in an early childhood education center for a summer.
- My experiences inspired me to go into the school of education and earn degrees in English literature and education.
- After graduating, I started my career as a teacher and a collegiate coach.
- I devoted my career to working for organizations like GreaterGood, Trudy Corporation, and Capstone Publishers, and volunteering and serving on boards of education and technology organizations.
- I joined Cambium Learning Group, an educational technology company, as chief operating officer and now serve as chairman and CEO.
