My Day to Day

My focus is on improving educational outcomes, such as helping students learn to read and enhancing their math proficiency for future STEM careers. Each day, I integrate work and personal life, aligning them to our organization's purpose. Building a supportive community within my organization is crucial, expanding our capacity to achieve our goals. This approach ensures I stay committed to our purpose, even when balancing multiple priorities.

Life & Career Milestones

My path in life has been direct

  • 1.

    In high school, I worked for my stepfather and uncle’s small digital publishing startup.

  • 2.

    I also got a job working at a preschool, which was my first real introduction to working in education.

  • 3.

    I gravitated towards a lot of different interests in college, including English literature, anthropology, and animal behavior—but I realized that what I loved was the process of education in general.

  • 4.

    I started to become interested in the way other countries’ education systems worked, so I stayed with some family in Denmark and worked in an early childhood education center for a summer.

  • 5.

    My experiences inspired me to go into the school of education and earn degrees in English literature and education.

  • 6.

    After graduating, I started my career as a teacher and a collegiate coach.

  • 7.

    I devoted my career to working for organizations like GreaterGood, Trudy Corporation, and Capstone Publishers, and volunteering and serving on boards of education and technology organizations.

  • 8.

    I joined Cambium Learning Group, an educational technology company, as chief operating officer and now serve as chairman and CEO.
