About Trevor

• I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana.
• I was studying film at the University of Oklahoma and was happy and doing well—but when Hurricane Katrina hit, I had a change of heart and decided to move back home.
• I moved back to New Orleans and decided to finish school and earn my degree in Spanish; however, I didn’t really have a plan for after college.
• Unsure of the path I wanted to take, I knew I was technically qualified to teach, so I took a job as a Spanish and world history teacher at the same K-12 school I had graduated from.
• After deciding I wasn’t where I wanted to be, I went back to school for my master’s and doctoral degrees—all the while, I kept teaching.
• When I started teaching at my current school, my dad had recently passed away and I was at a low point—that’s when I started dancing with students and using social media to have more fun with my job.
• Since then, I’ve been using dancing and music to have fun and connect with my students.
