About Naomi
- Attended Purdue University and majored in several subjects before settling in and earning her degree in psychology.
- Had initially planned on pursuing her master’s degree in psychology, but delayed it in order to get work experience and decide if it was really the right career field for her.
- Her first job out of college was working in the mental health industry, but the stress of the job forced her to quit for the sake of her own mental health.
- This experience made her rethink psychology as a career, so she decided to go back to school and get a master’s degree in marketing from the University of Cincinnati.
- Graduated from grad school in 2008, right in the middle of the recession—says this was the worst possible time to enter the job market without any industry experience.
- With the help of family connections, she got a job at a vision care company, working in account management assisting with insurance renewals—got licensed to work in health insurance.
- Moved to Colorado and temporarily switched career paths, working in the financial services industry and in email marketing.
- Was recruited back into the insurance industry by Valen Analytics, where she now works as the marketing director in charge of executing all marketing campaigns.
