Life & Career Milestones
My path in life has been direct
1.
Growing up surrounded by strong Black women, I learned early what it means to show up and care for others in community.
2.
As a young person, I felt people’s pain deeply and knew I wanted to help.
3.
I began my career in community counseling, supporting queer and trans people and men and boys navigating violence and hardship.
4.
Working with institutions like the CDC and the NIH, I learned how to train others in behavioral health and crisis support.
5.
I realized many frontline caregivers had heart but lacked resources, which pushed me to imagine something more accessible.
6.
I founded the Black Emotional And Mental Health Collective in 2016 to bring mental health tools, funding, and healing spaces directly to underserved communities.
