Life & Career Milestones
My path in life has been direct
1.
I dreamed of becoming an athlete or diplomat, but engineering became my path when I discovered how much I loved building things.
2.
I studied engineering and computer science in New Delhi, building a technical foundation for my career path.
3.
I moved to New York and began my career at Goldman Sachs in 2000, working as an engineer on the trading floor.
4.
I started out building technology, then gradually moved into product roles where I could use my engineering background to imagine what was possible.
5.
After Goldman Sachs, I spent more than a decade at BlackRock, taking on different roles and discovering that, at my core, I was always a builder.
6.
My fascination with markets led me to pursue an MBA in finance, giving me a stronger foundation in the industry.
7.
I built a career at the intersection of technology and financial services, learning that I didn’t need every step planned as long as I stayed focused and curious.
8.
I joined Ares as CIO, drawn by its people and the opportunity to lead technology, cybersecurity, data, and AI as alternative investments continue to evolve.
