Milestones

My road in life has been direct.
I grew up in Lake Bluff, Illinois.
I graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in history and political science.
After graduating, I moved to San Francisco, California, with aspirations to start a high-end food delivery business.
I was in competition with someone who had better connections in the area, so I decided to find another job to support myself—I ended up taking a sales job for a commercial cleaning company.
I moved on to do sales for companies in the education sector, including a start-up that allowed me to gain experience in a lot of different business areas while working my way up.
That start-up eventually partnered with Follett Corporation and I was asked to take on a new library venture for the company—my success in the role led to more opportunities for the companies.
My responsibility in the company grew, and I’m now leading the whole enterprise as president and chairman!

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for everyone

People are going to tell you what you can't do, but you need to think about what you can do. Find the balance between seeking advice from others and paving your own road. While you can find inspiration from the guidance and experiences of others, the real value aspect comes from the experience of doing something yourself. That's how you'll find your inner confidence.
