Life & Career Milestones
My path in life has been direct
1.
Growing up with an accountant for a mom, I learned about numbers, budgeting, and financial literacy from an early age.
2.
I entered college without knowing where I’d end up, so I explored my interests and talked to people to learn what different careers could offer.
3.
Through Management Leadership for Tomorrow, I discovered private equity and found a field that blended strategic thinking with numbers.
4.
A private equity internship during college led to a full-time offer, and after graduating from Swarthmore, I moved to Los Angeles, California, to begin my career.
5.
While working in private equity, I volunteered as a mentor with AltFinance and discovered a way to reconnect with my longtime interest in teaching.
6.
I left private equity to travel through South America and step into a new challenge: helping AltFinance teach investing to HBCU students.
7.
As an investor in residence, I now help design and teach a finance curriculum that gives students the knowledge and skills to enter alternative investing.
8.
I’ve also started doing CFO work for technology companies as I explore my interest in operating, building, and eventually founding a business.
