Life & Career Milestones

I've taken a lot of twists and turns

  • 1.

I was doing consulting for Fortune 500 companies and I was really unhappy. It didn't feel like I was heard most of the time. And my work didn't feel like it had any impact.

  • 2.

When I started my agency, I focused on personal brands that were mission-driven. It was very easy to just not only feel like I had made an impact but to know that I had an impact.

  • 3.

I started several companies that focus on different aspects of marketing. I built a matching tool for podcast guests & hosts. I built a firm that specializes in personal branding.

  • 4.

I built what originally started as an event that turned into an education and personal development company.

Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Society in general:

My Noise was about the way I structured my career path. I chose to go the route of starting my own agency. I am self-employed or sometimes a contractor within a consulting firm and have to travel a lot. People didn't think it was a real job.

  • How I responded:

I would say you really have to focus on what advantages you have in your life and pursue the right way for you. There is no one right way for all of us. It also wouldn't be great if all of us worked my way. There are people that really struggle with remote work, who struggle with self-discipline in that sort of setting. And it wouldn't work for them. We have to have ways that are right for each of us.
