Advice for Getting Started
Here's the first step for everyone
The first step to getting your foot in the door, in the profession, is to gain experience. For me, everything was self-taught with a lot of trial and error. Failure is a big part of success—it teaches you how to pivot when needed. When I first started, I would do a lot of events for free just to gain experience as well as grow my portfolio. Social media was very helpful. Also, having the right mindset is also a big must!

"Since leaving nursing, I got a lot of criticism, especially from my parents. They just couldn’t believe I would want to leave a stable nursing career for something unpredictable (in their eyes). It brought me down most times, questioning my choices."
