My typical day starts first with: phone call with clients on service needed; schedule services; test equipment; site survey—making sure what the client asks is feasible; setup equipment; take down equipment.

Here's the first step for everyone
The first thing I recommend is you get connected with someone who is already in the field. Be a sponge, a lot of the things we do is a hands-on experience. If you can do that you are ahead of the game.
