Day to Day

I'm retired so I approach my day with intention. My daily routine is a cup of coffee and watch the sun rise. Then I begin my Tai Chi movements to loosen up and center my mind. Since I have ADHD it is optimal that I do this. This routine leads to Qi Gong to strengthen. My actual work day begins after a short meditation. I gather my notes from the day before and review them. Then I begin as I review my outline. I spend about 2 hours per day writing.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for college students

Jobs that give you insight and experience into that career would be the best advice I could give perspective teachers. The Job Corps is an excellent preparation for preparing to teach. My teacher training was not so broad but this would have helped me narrow my scope as to what age group and subject I would like to teach.

Recommended Education

My career is related to what I studied. I'd recommend the path I took:

certification
Certification/License
Rank 1, Special Education- Learning and Behavior Disorders
