My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
I started my first "career" role as the mother of a 5-month-old infant.
2.
After my 2nd child was born, I decided to take a different job so I could spend more time with my kids going to field trips, volunteering in their classes, and picking them up from school every day.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Friends:
You're not a good mother because you work.
How I responded:
I think working made me an even better mom, as I wasn't a helicopter parent and my children were able to see that women can be business leaders and mothers.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I was the first person in my family to receive a four-year college degree and I did it by working three jobs during college, taking out student loans, and using scholarships/grants.
