Executive Development Program Manager
As executive development program manager, I oversee the implementation of policy for executive development programs.
No two days are the same. On any given day, I am responding to inquiries, working with my customers to find creative solutions, or responding to inquiries from senior leadership. I cannot say that there is a "typical" day. Each day brings new and exciting challenges!
Here's the first step for everyone
Seek an internship even if your program doesn't require it and even if it is only for a semester. Go above the requirements. Research what credentials successful people have in your field (certifications, training). Take advantage of Career Services. Get involved with the community, it is a great way to network.
"Sometimes leaders are not good at leveraging employees' strengths and building off of their weaknesses and that can be discouraging. Sometimes, we can be hard on ourselves as well."
Try to get training in the different areas of HR. Don't stick to one focus area, seek out other opportunities.
