Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Society in general:

Critiques of every kind when you're not given enough feedback or enough support and contact with those who should be there for you on the job; I've had to ignore my own discouragement, echos of pessimists with power and meant enough to remain in my brain

  • How I responded:

I would encourage someone with similar discouragement to encourage yourself the way you uplift your students. Fight just as hard for yourself and what you deserve and want and for your dreams like you do for them. Overcommunicate with not only with those above but adjacent and below you professionally. That rapport and bond essential in education must transcend. Don't ever underestimate it.
