Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Teachers:

My degree is in Broadcast, & I was told that the field didn’t lay very well. After working in TV for 3 years I realized they were right. Although I love broadcast and TV, there are ways to incorporate your passion within another job, which is what I do.

  • How I responded:

The communications field has changed drastically from when I went to school 10 years ago. If you love something passionately & can’t for whatever reason be in the field you chose, don’t get discouraged. You can easily tie in your forté with another job. For instance, I love doing voice overs and being in front of a camera, so I incorporated that into my current job. I do voice overs to promote events, I emcee those events and often times do videos for them. It’s what you make of what you have.
