Day to Day

No two days are the same in public relations! I spend my day communicating with - and on behalf of clients, addressing any pressing issues, writing and pitching news stories, blogs and social media posts, searching opportunities to increase client visibility, advocating on behalf of clients, collaborating with the CVR creative team to develop communications tools, and manage and build relationships that benefit clients and the agency.

Skills & Qualities Beyond School

Communications -if you're considering a PR career you must be a good communicator. Writing -you must have strong writing & editing skills, along with understanding how to be a good storyteller. Creativity -not only in terms of writing, but also in developing new ways to promote businesses & approaching communications solutions. Personal skills - being responsive, detail oriented, organized, a multi-tasker, ability to work well under pressure. Network - build strategic, meaningful relationships.

The Noise I Shed

From Peers:

"When I decided to go out on my own and create Baise Communications to focus on nonprofits, I heard "nonprofits don't have any money. Why focus on them?" ... My "why" is because I'm passionate about my work and the work of these amazing organizations."

I would encourage anyone to follow their dreams, pursue their passion and do what makes them happy. It also helps to continue to learn more, do more and understand more about your "why" - and then go after it!
