Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Peers:
You're just a lawyer; you can't run the business.
How I responded:
If you find a passion and want to do something different at work, speak up. Assert yourself as someone willing to learn and try something new. Search for a company whose culture allows people to expand their skills and areas of interest. Never settle for less than that. Prove your value to the company and then ask for new opportunities. Take charge of your own career.
