Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
You're crazy for working for an NGO in the Philippines. You won't be able to build a career or save any money doing that!
How I responded:
Stay determined and never lose faith in your beliefs and principles. Challenges build a person's character and your fuel should be the doubters. Yes, you will struggle and you may fall sometimes, but that's expected. Stand up and keep moving forward. When you prove them wrong, reach your goals and achieve your aspirations, smile and be proud that you stood your ground. The world is yours, take it and build something from it.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I was the first in my family to get a four year degree. This was challenging because I had to pay my own way through and it hit hard after graduating. Although, I fulfilled my family's dream I had to mature very quickly and make plans for my future.
