I got my dream job working for a credit union in Tempe just steps from ASU.

Everyday is different. From creating marketing material, to meeting with a vendor, to coming up with the latest promotion, the world of marketing is ever changing and evolving. New trends in social media, traditional advertising, and creative online tools allow in our case a 2 person team to handle all of the marketing aspects of the company. From overseeing our social media pages and website, to the creation of full scale promotions, that include full media campaigns, no two days are alike.
Advice for Getting Started
Here's the first step for college students
I didn't start out in the field of marketing but some of my early jobs prepared me for my career. Sometimes you think you are at a dead end or in a job that isn't what you want as a career but that job may have an impact on getting you your next job and the skills you have learned may translate without you even realizing it. Don't be discouraged if your dream job doesn't happen right away.
