Milestones

My road in life took a while to figure out.
First I took many courses that interested me in High School
Then I talked to my family about the pros and cons
Then I applied to the correct programs
Then I did more exploring in college
and then I ultimately came back to accounting.
However I wanted more of a consultative role and ended up in Deloitte's National Tax practice.

Day to Day

My daily life starts with calls with our colleagues in India to have a touch point on our current project status. Followed by getting ready to either make an early flight to a client meeting or the next train to the LA office. In the office, I will join numerous calls both internally and with clients throughout the day. During my downtime I will connect with local office professionals to discuss opportunities for prospective clients or work on projects for client delivery.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for high school students

High school was a pivotal time for me that shaped my career path. One minute I wanted to be a Pharmacist, the next I wanted to be a teacher, but after taking an accounting course I knew there was something about it that clicked for me. Every person has their own journey that leads them to a career that is right for them, but high school was that for me. I encourage students to explore and learn as much as they can - this will enable someone to make the best decision for them.

"You should go to law school, you'll be a great lawyer. or You shouldn't be an accountant - it's so boring."
