Milestones

My road in life took a while to figure out.
I started college as an engineering major.
Then I realized that the only thing I liked about the engineering curriculum was the math.
So I changed my major to math, and noticed that I also enjoyed the computer science side of math.
I added a second major, Management Information Systems.
Upon graduation, I still didn't know what I wanted to do with my life.
So I enrolled in graduate school for an MBA to get more business-specific education.
After college, I was tired of living in a snowy state, so I decided to look for jobs out west.
I was hired out of college by Deloitte in Las Vegas... and the rest is history.

Day to Day

Every day is different, but the objective of my role remains constant - support our leaders to enable industry strategy. Some days I focus on performing financial analyses to present an analytical view of our business. Other days, I do research to identify trends that drive our clients' needs and our company's opportunities. Still other days, you will find me deep into PowerPoint or Adobe Illustrator, creating presentations or infographics.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for high school students

Make school a priority. High school is a fun time, and it is easy to become overly focused on the social aspect. It is important to commit to your education now, which will create a solid foundation for college and eventually for your career.
