I've taken a lot of twists and turns
1.
First I tried management in the entertainment industry. Then I when to marketing in the industry.
2.
When the recession hit, I went to my trade which was in the medical field, stayed there for 2 years.
3.
Then I went to marketing for small businesses. That was okay, but I found that I desired more.
4.
So I then went to helping aspiring entrepreneurs start their own business.
5.
Currently still doing that, even facilitated a workshop on it. Kinda became interested in travel.
6.
So I became a licensed travel agent to sell travel. This is a full time career for some, but not me.
7.
Fashion is a passion so I launched my own style company where I provide style services.
8.
I am also currently writing a book on how to start a business to establish myself as an expert.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
You have three kids, you should work a more stable job, in a stable industry.
How I responded:
When I stop looking for the validation from family, and realized that what I was put on this earth for had nothing to do with what they wanted, I became better off. I realized that I am different and I can't make everyone happy, you lose peace that way. I refuse to lose my peace for anyone.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
My mom struggled being a single mother of six, I even struggle being a single mother of three. I remained positive, looked at my bigger picture and understood it takes struggle to be polished and refined.
I was the first in my family to go to college. Which was hard to believe because I had my son going into my 12th grade year of high school. I worked very hard to ensure I went to the college of my choice.
