My path in life has been direct
1.
I started as a programmer, which is what college trained me for - I was bored.
2.
Then I got to be a DBA and a System Engineer, and realized I like a job that is different every day.
3.
I managed teams for a while, but wanted control of my own fate.
4.
Pre-Sales is a great job where you are rewarded for your hard work.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Teachers:
A teacher of an AP class in High School told me that women can't be pre-med; nobody will want to hire us, because we're just going to quit our jobs to be mothers!
How I responded:
I knew there were women who were hired at companies and were doctors. So, I decided he was not saying anything worth paying attention to!
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Nobody knew what I should major in. I worked with my HS teachers to find something that matched what I was passionate about.
