Milestones

My road in life took a while to figure out.
I struggled all the way through my last year of college, when I was finally diagnosed with dyslexia.
I never thought I'd get a master's degree. But, I ended up earning a scholarship for a Masters of Business Administration.
Contracting, consulting or employed by some of the best companies in the world such as Adobe, SAP and others…
I remember coming home one night and praying on what I should do next with my life.
My company was named after my childhood doll named Luv. Hence the name Luv's Brownies #HeartShapedBrownies.
Creating a business plan
In 1996, my bakery Luv's Brownies, was an Internet pioneer.
We have done fundraisers for AIDS and homelessness; giving back is incredibly important to me. In 2021, we launched the Andrea R. Lacy scholarship. A portion of our sales goes to this fund.

Day to Day

There are two sides to our business. The online bakery which offers brownie cakes, mail order gifts and wedding favors. And, we have a Dessert Truck that offers fresh baked brownies, Cuban drinks and ice cream. In a typical day, we may be baking, shipping via USPS or delivering in the San Francisco Bay Area. Once those orders are out, then we are on our Dessert Truck popping up at various venues (farmers’ markets, company events etc.) around the Bay Area.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for everyone

There's never a "right" time to do anything; the best time to do anything is when you feel like it's right. Your friends could be telling you to quit your job, or not to quit your job, but at the end of the day, you've got to hustle and make things happen on your own, regardless of the timing. Never let any challenge stop you from making your dreams a reality.
