Luv's Brownies

Milestones

My road in life took a while to figure out.
I struggled all the way through my last year of college, when I was finally diagnosed with dyslexia.
I never thought I'd get a master's degree, but I ended up getting my MBA on a 50% scholarship.
Contracting, consulting or employed by some of the best companies in the world HP, Adobe, and SAP
I remember coming home one night and praying on what I should do next with my life.
My company was named after my childhood doll Luv. Hence the name Luv's Brownies #HeartShapedBrownies.
Because of my high tech background, I was able to develop a great go-to-market plan.
In 1996, my bakery Luv's Brownies, became the first to sell bakery goods on the Internet.
Luvs has done huge fundraisers for AIDS and homelessness; giving back is incredibly important to me.

Day to Day

Every day is different. Some days I'm in high tech creating a marketing plan, writing content or managing a strategic event. Or I might be baking or delivering brownies.

Skills & Qualities Beyond School

I was diagnosed with dyslexia during my final semester at San Jose State University. My GPA was below 2.0, but once I got the help and accommodations I needed, I got my GPA up to well over 3.0, and ended up being one of SJSU's "Distinguished Alumni." The essential mixture of success for me is a combination of strategic thinking, planning, and execution.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for professionals

There's never a "right" time to do anything; the best time to do anything is when you feel like it's right. Your friends could be telling you to quit your job, or not to quit your job, but at the end of the day, you've got to hustle and make things happen on your own, regardless of the timing.
