I've taken a lot of twists and turns
1.
I started playing guitar when I was 7.
2.
By the time I entered middle school I joined choir to help with my singing. Note: I never sang before.
3.
I loved choir so much I stayed with it - my favorite class in high school.
4.
People started showing interest in my guitar playing.
5.
I played for several bands trying to find the right one.
6.
I was soon discovered by an out-of-town band trying to get a record label who offered me a spot.
7.
I tried it but I turned them down after a while.
8.
I decided to complete high school and continue my road, and maybe start my own band one day.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
You should focus on school and get a job where you can get a good paycheck and support your family instead of focusing too much on guitar and singing.
How I responded:
I decided I can't do that. Go to college, major in something, get a job somewhere and wake up doing the same thing - something I'll get so bored of. Then I thought, "Once I complete high school why not join a band, start a band or something?" Get a record label, tour the world, and wake up everyday doing something you love.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
If you don't think you'll have enough money to do some travels get a job during high school. Save part of your paycheck, believe me it pays off.
Don't always think that music writing has to be from something deep down, start basic.
All around me were people with drugs. Just stay strong, don't try any drugs and do not drink under age.
