My work combines:
Entrepreneurship

Helping People

Day to Day

Well, I am now "retired" from day to day work. When I was working most my days at Starbucks were filled with helping, coaching and encouraging people. I did all of my paperwork at night at home.

Skills & Qualities Beyond School

Become a people expert. If you chose one industry become an expert on that industry. Do the work that others do not want to do. I call it "picking up the cigarette butts".

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for high school students

Get really interested in something that fills your soul. Something you really love to be part of. For me it was the retail industry. Why? Because I love people and retail is all about people. Become an expert on yourself, what your values are, what your present mission in life is and then become an expert on people. Why we do what we do. Learn to listen first and talk second. Become a great asker of questions and listen with your whole brain.

Recommended Education

My career is not related to what I studied. I'd recommend this path instead:

undergrad
Bachelor
Business Administration and Management, General

"You should just be happy with who you are. My mother used to say to me that not everybody could be what I wanted to be."
