How I responded:
If you can get that job once, you can get it again. Companies always need smart, capable people willing to be cogs. If you try something new that doesn't work out, you'll have an interesting, unique hook on your resume for your next job.

Assume that it is inevitable. Not that you 'might' go but that you are going. Talk to counselors and older people who have been there and get their advice.
