Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
Success looks like a well paying job, nice clothes, and a nice car.
How I responded:
Sometimes we feel pressured by who we think we need to be- needing to achieve something, earn something, or get somewhere to prove it to ourselves or to others. This usually comes from a place of hurt and insecurity, not from strength and affirmation. Know that you are valued. That you were created to be uniquely you. You don't have to prove yourself to anyone. Knowing that, what do you want to do? What makes you come alive just because you love it?
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Going away to college wasn't an easy thing for me, but I pursued a lot of scholarships and took steps in high school which paid off, such as joining the speech team (got a scholarship for this in college) and taking AP classes.
