My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
As a kid, my parents encouraged me to explore a range of interests from sports to the arts.
2.
I didn't enjoy college but not finishing wasn't an option. So I worked extra hard to finish early.
3.
Changing my major on a whim to follow what got me excited rather than what seemed like a safe career.
4.
Decided to move to Nashville without knowing a soul to pursue my passion for music (business).
5.
Landed a job at what I thought has the coolest label in town. Look out world!
6.
Worked my butt off for 5 years and got pretty full of myself.
7.
Lost my sister to cancer. Changed EVERYTHING.
8.
Quit my job and opened my own business cold turkey. Most scary/awesome/rewarding thing I've ever done.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
Follow our rules or everything you do will fail in this life AND you will spend eternity in hell. -Church
How I responded:
Growing up in within a strict religious culture can be tough for people who desire freedom and the ability to make their own choices. I overcame this noise by moving away from home and giving myself a totally fresh start. I had to give myself the physical and mental space to better understand what it is that I do believe as well as why. Moving away from all of my friends and family was difficult but it was far and away one of the best decisions I ever made.
