Advice for getting started
My family didn't understand what I was trying to create and wasn't supportive. I've learned that this is my life. If people don't support me, I have no problem moving on without them. You have to understand why you want to reach your goals and what it will do for your life to achieve them. Once that's clear, the things people say about it will matter less and less. Remember that no one will hate on you when you're successful, so let that motivate you to achieve the success you desire.
Here's the path I took:
High School
Here's the path I recommend for someone who wants to be an Author, Speaker & Life Coach:
Bachelor's Degree: Business Administration and Management, General

My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
I went to Portland State University for college but didn’t end up graduating.
2.
I married my high school sweetheart and had three children—a son and twin girls—but our marriage ended due to his infidelity a year after our twins were born.
3.
I went through an extremely hard time as I went through the divorce and became a single mom—I had no income, we lost our house, and everything was in my ex-husband’s name.
4.
I started a blog just to help myself process that difficult time in my life and soon after discovered there were other people like me out there trying to figure their lives out.
5.
The blog did very well and I used it to transition into a life coaching business.
6.
Because of the positivity I was visualizing and channeling, I went from food stamps and poverty to vice president of sales and a six-figure income within five years!
7.
As my life coaching business grew, I was eventually able to leave my corporate job and focus on my business.
8.
I’m now a motivational speaker and podcast host, and I've written two best-selling self-help books to help others turn their lives around.

I don't get what you're trying to do. Why are you doing this?

Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I found out my husband was having an affair and immediately separated. We had 3 young children, so I had to adjust to being a single mom. I didn't have any income and everything was in my ex-husband's name. It was an extremely hard time to navigate.
We were struggling financially before my divorce, so that struggle was amplified after separating. I had 5 dollars to my name, no income, and our house was in foreclosure. I got on food stamps, applied to any job I could, and worked hard to succeed.
