Advice for getting started
Anyone can get involved in politics—you just have to pay attention and care. I suggest starting with subscribing to a local newspaper and watching local news. Start forming opinions for yourself about how you feel about the world going on around you. From there, you can begin trying to figure out what your role can be in that. Communications is a great versatile degree that can be an entry point into government or politics as well as a variety of other fields.

Life & Career Milestones
My path in life has been direct
1.
I went to college at Temple University and pursued a degree in communications.
2.
In school, I explored different areas where I could use my degree, including the nonprofit sector, journalism, media management, and ultimately political communications, which was a great fit for me.
3.
After graduating, I worked on a number of political campaigns at the city, state, and national levels.
4.
I connected with Isaiah Thomas and managed his campaign while he ran for City Council—it was ultimately unsuccessful, so we went our separate ways but stayed in touch.
5.
I spent the next few years learning about formal communications in a public relations firm.
6.
In 2019, Isaiah Thomas decided to run for City Council again and I helped with his campaign as a friend.
7.
Isaiah Thomas won and offered me the position as director of his communications—it was a very easy yes for me and I’ve been managing his communications since!
