Life & Career Milestones

I've taken a lot of twists and turns

  • 1.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in political science and planned to pursue a Ph.D., but my mother’s sudden passing shifted everything and left me searching for direction.

  • 2.

I served an 18-month mission in Brazil to reset my life and figure out who I was without a clear plan.

  • 3.

Unsure of my next step, I leaned on a mentor, who hired me to research campaign finance and launched me into Washington, D.C.

  • 4.

At 25, I was trusted to build a nonprofit from the ground up, without prior experience but with people who believed in me.

  • 5.

That nonprofit, the Campaign Legal Center, became my professional home for over 20 years, shaping policies that protect democracy.

  • 6.

After decades of meaningful work, I realized I was ready for change.

  • 7.

I now lead Disagree Better, helping our country heal through curiosity, dignity, and conversations across divides.
