Day In The Life As President Of A Pharmaceutical Software Company

My Day to Day

My job as president is to be focused on setting the company up to last well beyond my time here. Most of my work is very strategic in nature and involves a lot of meetings, communication, and organization. I spend time thinking about where the company is going next and what direction we should take the technology. I meet and talk with partners and large clients. I make sure our policies are good for our employees.

Life & Career Milestones

My path in life took a while to figure out

  • 1.

    I initially went to college to study theology and then switched to law—however, I realized that neither major was right for me.

  • 2.

    I ultimately graduated with a general Bachelor of Arts degree and joined the workforce.

  • 3.

    I started my career working on a production line with the goal of improving production—the work involved a lot of statistics and development.

  • 4.

    My experience in developing led me to software development, where I started in a client support role and worked my way up to senior director of software development.

  • 5.

    Software development eventually led me to KeyCentrix, which provides software and technology for pharmacies.

  • 6.

    I started at KeyCentrix as a chief technology officer and have since transitioned to president.

  • I worked for a big aerospace company and thought that I was valuable. When I was laid off, I realized I wasn't valued at that company. I decided then that I need to be part of a company where my work is valued and I'm doing something for the world.
