Milestones

My road in life has taken me all over.
I was born in India and moved to the U.S. right before middle school.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth University where I studied political science and computer science.
After college, I started building my career working on political campaigns.
I joined the Obama Administration and focused on math and science education.
I now work as the vice president of partnerships for Schmidt Futures, a foundation that works to ensure advances in science and technology get applied to important things in the world.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for everyone

Government, policy, and other impact jobs are all relationship-based careers. Even if it feels a little scary, you've got to reach out to try and make those connections. People are often more friendly on the other end than you may think. Try reaching out to someone on LinkedIn or email to ask for five minutes of their time to learn more about what they're doing.
