Life & Career Milestones
My path in life has been direct
1.
I studied theater in college—I knew I never wanted to move to New York and become an actress, but it was what I was interested in and loved to do at the time.
2.
During the Y2K problem, I said yes to a program aimed at teaching nontechnical majors how to code and started my career as a developer.
3.
From there, I realized that I was really organized and loved working with people, so I became a project manager.
4.
As I gained more experience, I grew confident in my ability to explain technology to nontechnical people, so I transitioned into a customer-facing role where I taught people about technology.
5.
I now work as the vice president of partnerships and business development for Filament Games, a company that makes video games for positive impact.
