Advice for getting started
When I graduated college and tried to find a job, companies kept offering me entry level positions and pay. I had almost 10 years worth of experience from the military as well as a business degree. I knew my worth and was determined to negotiate with the companies I was applying at in order to see my value and experience recognized.

My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
After high school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do—I wanted to go to college but didn’t have the resources to pay for it, so the military seemed like a good place to find my drive and passion.
2.
I joined the military and worked as an automated logistical specialist for the U.S. Army for about six years.
3.
When I transitioned from active duty to the reserves, I decided to go to school for my business degree.
4.
I went to Colorado State University Denver for business.
5.
I was doing start-up work for smaller businesses but eventually decided I wanted to transition into IT for a better work-life balance as a new mom.
6.
I now work as an operations specialist for Tortuga AgTech, where we’re using technology to build a healthier society through smarter farming.
