Every time I got to designing, I would just design stuff I'd never done before. &gt;&gt; Nice. &gt;&gt; Which makes it extremely not lucrative, but at the same time really fun, and you're learning all the time. So that passion of learning was what drove me for ten years, easy. My name's Tom Bennett. We have two major facets to this company. One is we build beer brewing equipment, and that's equipment for small neighborhood pubs. The other part of it, which has been going on longer, is making what I call house jewelry for the fancy homes, mostly up in Telluride. But we wind up in some other places in the Rocky Mountain West, too. There was a long time where I made the least amount of money of anybody that worked for me. That was partly just because I was very slow to learn the business end of things. But it was also partly because I absolutely just wanted to provide the best product. And I didn't care so much about, as long as I could eat, I was gonna make it as good as I could do it. But business, and a lot of things, much of life has to do with luck. But you have to be standing to be ready when luck comes along. 

I was always good at building things but once I started my company, realizing that I needed to learn the business side of things was difficult. That didn't come naturally to me at all, but I had to learn in order for my company to survive.
