My name is Alison Canals, I am the Workforce Development Manager with Bolt. We are a nationwide construction company. I actually went to school for human services, leadership, and history, and I actually got into employment in training programs. Where it's really focused on, how do we get people to overcome barriers to employment? And then really from there, I knew I needed to grow my understanding, so I entered an HR role within a construction company, Bolt. And then from there really learned how I could apply some of my skills and experience to this new role. If I always waited for my confidence and to feel I was ready or I know the information, I don't think I'd be where I am. But I have had the courage to say, hey, I actually don't have the experience, but I wanna learn. I want to figure out what does this all look like, and I think that's what's helped set me apart. And so I came into HR, I don't have an HR degree, but I've learned and I've grown and I've sought education through that, and it's helped me along the way just become stronger and more well rounded in my career
