About Monica
- I earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
- I started my career as a high school mathematics teacher.
- After teaching for a number of years, I went back to school to earn my master’s degree in educational leadership and administration.
- As I gained experience, I was able to move up from classroom teacher to mathematics specialist, assistant principal, and then principal.
- I eventually worked my way up to chief of operations, where I managed all of the transportation, food services, and construction in the school district.
- After that, I served as the deputy superintendent for teaching and learning, where we decided what curriculum our students would learn.
- Finally, I became the CEO for the school district and have been serving in this position for the last four years.
