About Adam
- I earned both a bachelor’s degree and Ph.D. in physics.
- I expected to build my career in academia but decided instead to take a nonlinear step after graduating and work for the solar energy technology office for the U.S. Department of Energy.
- After three years, I left the U.S. Department of Energy thinking about new business ideas.
- While working for a clean transportation company in Washington, DC, my wife and I started thinking about what was next for our careers.
- We decided to take a break, go on a road trip to national parks, and use the time to think about who we are and who we wanted to be.
- We came up with the vision for NineDot Energy while on the road trip.
- After learning about the policies, programs, and opportunities in New York, my wife, co-founder, and I decided to move to New York City to start NineDot Energy.
