My name is Chris Young. In 2002, I got arrested, a part of federal drug conspiracy. And eventually I was sentenced to two life sentences plus five years, ran consecutive. I was blessed that after ten years and two months, I received presidential clemency and I was released. And one of my first actions upon being released, I got a company incorporated and I'm trying to make a mental health app. I want it to be called like you, because I want individuals to know, you're not the only one going through what you're going through. There's somebody out there that's like you. But also it's a double entendre because I wanted to mean like you, like yourself, love yourself. Unfortunately, there's a lot of people out there that's doing what they're doing and not realizing they're doing what they're doing, because they don't love their self. I have a saying that I coined, is called your mentality equals your reality. And I say that because a lot of people fail to realize, thoughts are very powerful. A lot of the stuff that we're feeding ourselves and that we're thinking daily is not conducive to our acceleration. And if we just start thinking stuff that's conducive to our acceleration, we'll have more power within us and no pain and hesitation. We'll start living in a life that's abundant and full of love and light.

Start figuring out and pursuing your interests early. I recommend starting on that path in high school. Whatever it is that you're interested in, find ways to start pursuing it while still in school.

I had a difficult childhood due to my mother's drug addiction. I was eventually put into foster care and was fortunately taken in by a family friend who loved me as her own grandson. However, I harbored a lot of anger from the struggle.

My older brother took on a lot of responsibility and stress at a young age. He committed suicide at 21 years old. It was his solution to his emotional distress. I couldn't help him then but I'm trying to help others in similar states now with my app.

I was sentenced to life in prison after a third nonviolent drug-related conviction. After 10 years in prison, I received presidential clemency and was released.
