My name is David Rick Ball. I am a coach, executive coach, leadership development coach and ADHD coach. I work with adults with ADHD. So I I discovered I had ADHD almost five years ago. So I was in my early 50s. I spent a couple of decades just doing the business thing, right? And it was clear to me that I didn't have the passion for it anymore. I was trying to figure out what to do next. And I was sharing with my executive coach at the time, I was interested in going into coaching, but I didn't really know how to do that. And he mentioned that there's a program at the University of Sydney in coaching psychology. So, that seemed perfect for me and that's what I did. And I'd spent probably 13 years feeling like there's something going on and I couldn't put my finger on it. I said to myself, okay David, you just got this fancy degree in coaching psychology. What would you do for a client said this to you, so I don't know, I guess I'd probably download a screener of some sort, what kind of screener, but attention deficit. I talked to a doctor who specializes in ADHD. So I went and got diagnosed, started on medication and it was, immediately life changing. So through that experience, I began to realize that I had something unique to offer. Because there is this experience of we all just have to kind of grow into the person. We're going to become.

When you're transitioning from school to a career, think of it as a learning experience. Get out there and talk to people to find out what's possible. Literally ask them for examples of roles in their own organization that could fit your strengths. That's a good way to learn what roles even exist. Statistics show that a majority of people find their job through connections. When you're in a career transition, I think the best thing to do is explore, talk to people, make connections, and learn.

Making a career change out of the corporate world into coaching was scary. However, I knew I wasn't passionate anymore and knew that I needed to make a change. I had the conviction that I could do it, so I took the leap.

I discovered I had ADHD and found that it was very hard to get the help I needed. Once I got the right medication, it was a complete turnaround. It was like the lights were finally turned on! I now devote time to helping other adults with ADHD.
