For the most part, we are harder on ourselves than how others see us. You just have to face your fears and keep putting yourself out there. The first couple of times you might stumble, but you’ll get over those fears.
About Aazan
- Growing up, I always had an interest in math and numbers—took an accounting class in high school and discovered I was really interested in that career field.
- Attended New York University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance.
- While in college, I wasn’t sure what a career in accounting would mean for me or what path I should take—I only saw two routes: public tax or auditing.
- I knew I didn’t want to be stuck in an office, so I pursued auditing, which would give me the freedom to travel, work in many different areas, and interact with people all over the world.
- After graduating from college, I got a job working as an audit associate for Caler, Donten, Levine, Cohen, Porter & Veil PA in West Palm Beach, Florida.
- In 2008, I became a certified public accountant (CPA) in Florida. Today, I am licensed in both Florida and New York.
- In 2011, I took a job as an audit manager at Crowe in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where I worked between the Crowe Fort Lauderdale and Miami offices for over seven years.
- I’m now an audit partner with Crowe at their offices in New York City.
