About Matt
- Born and raised in Michigan.
- His father and grandfather both worked in the insurance industry—says that inspired him to pursue that career path as well.
- Attended Olivet College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in insurance and risk management.
- Right out of college, he had an internship that let him experience multiple different aspects of the insurance industry—discovered he loved working in the wholesale market.
- Got his first full-time job through a broker he met while doing his internship—this experience steered him towards his niche in the transportation sector, which is where he’s been ever since.
- He now manages a team that is responsible for mitigating transportation-based insurance risks for a variety of clients.
- Says his favorite part of his job is the competition and trying to be the best at what he does.
- Prides himself on his work ethic and his willingness to go above and beyond for his customers: “I sold myself on service.”
